Punta Cocles Beach is a very small village that has grown tremendously in the last couple of years. We used to have only two stores, a school and a soccer field.
Today we keep our itty bitty town feel but have benefited from the growth of nearby (10 minutes) surf town Puerto Viejo. Cocles is known for being the high end of the area with gorgeous homes, upscale restaurants and a new five star hotel.
The locals are very friendly and welcoming and can be found sitting outside together laughing and enjoying life. In order to keep the beach a safe place to swim and enjoy, the community has come together and contributed to pay for lifeguard services which are not too common in this country.
The Caribbean is where the Jungle Meets the Sea... once you see Cocles, you will see why so many come to visit and choose to make it their new home!
